Energy data guide: output, energy flow, ECO and verification reports

Before acting on a number, establish where it comes from and what it means. This guide covers four practical questions to clarify when using Carboka.

Why separate counts, output and good units?

Hardware counts describe measured events; good units require quality confirmation. Preserve the source, time and correction version of MES or manual reports. A daily total cannot establish hourly output. Before calculating unit energy, align the work-order period, equipment and good-unit denominator. Full OEE also needs planned time, ideal cycle time and quality data.

Does unallocated energy mean an error?

Unallocated energy may reflect no work order, overlapping orders, misaligned time or insufficient sources. Keep the reason visible. Total equipment use should reconcile with allocated plus unallocated energy; distinguish finished goods, work in progress and non-processing use. Green electricity belongs within the total, and missing readings are not zero.

Which unit and context does ECO use?

Product ECO uses energy per good unit; equipment ECO uses power in a defined operating context; Spaces ECO uses current or power, schedules and duration. In product ECO, blue below the lower bound is not automatically better, and grey means unconfirmed data or conditions. Spaces uses green, yellow, red and unknown. Read the mode, unit, rule version and reason together. Management indicators are not safety protection or savings certification.

What should you check in a verification report?

Check the measurement boundary, baseline and reporting periods, followed by coverage, gaps, relevant variables, model suitability and uncertainty. Confirm review status and the released version against the customer summary, technical report and evidence package. Separate cost reduction, electricity savings and emissions reductions. Synthetic examples are not customer results, and receipt is not formal acceptance.
